How to add a second channel type (e.g. second WhatsApp number)

In this article we’ll show you how to add a second communication channel type, e.g. a second WhatsApp number or a second Instagram account, to your website via custom link.

To learn more about how to use the My Sticky Elements plug-in click here, and don’t forget to check our entire My Sticky Elements knowledgebase to make the most out of it.

Go to your WordPress dashboard and open MyStickyElements settings. To add a new channel via a custom link, first, make sure you have activated the social channels tabs and then click on the custom link icon:

Your new channel will appear at the bottom of the channels you have already activated.

You can now paste your custom channel link and select whether you want the channel to appear on desktop or mobile, or both.

As to the appearance, you can choose an icon from our icon database in the dropdown menu to the right, and customise its (background) colour.

In this example, if you want to add a second WhatsApp phone number, you can select the WhatsApp icon from our icon database. Alternatively you can upload your custom icon.

Tip: pay attention to the live preview option to the right of your screen to adjust the icon text size accordingly.

To customise your new channel further, you can add a text that will show up below the icon in the ”icon text”, as well as add an ”on hover text” in the relevant field.

Finally, you can select whether you want the channel to open in a new tab or not.

Don’t forget to hit the ”Save changes” button to make sure all changes will be displayed on your website properly.

Below is an example of the final result. Here is how a second WhatsApp channel via custom link will look on your website.
