How to fully customise your Coupon X tab

In this guide we’ll show you how you can fully customise your Coupon X sticky widget tab so that your visitors never miss out your Shopify discount codes.

To learn more about how to use the app, click here. To personalise even further your widget, check out how to create a lightbox, floating bar or slide-in popup widget here.

With this feature you can tailor the widget according to your needs and preferences and make your discount code look as good as possible, inviting visitors to click on it to get your coupon code.

First, open the Coupon X app in your admin panel and click on the ”Edit” option next to your widget. Click on ”Tab Design” in the page that will open.

Alternatively, if you’re creating a new widget, you’ll automatically be redirected to this page once you click on the ”Create New Widget” button.

Below you will see all the customisation options you can choose from to make your widget not only appealing to visitors, but also in harmony with your website appearance.

Start by naming your widget in the ”Name Your Widget” field. You’ll see your first and default (unless you change that) widget will be named ”Default First”.

Note: this name is internal and for your own ease and reference. Your visitors will not see your widget name!

Then move on to the ”Tab color” and ”Icon color” options. You can see the default tab is yellow and the icon is blue.

Select a colour combination of your preference and then choose your icon appearance from the ”Tab icon” option below. You can either choose from our six icons or upload your own by clicking on the blue upload button to the right. You need to upload a file that’s no bigger than 500 kB. It may look something like this:

After this, select a shape for your icon from the dropdown ”Tab shape” menu.

Then, select the widget position on the screen. If you are a Pro user, you can also select a custom position.

You can select a size for your tab from the ”Tab size” option (it’s 50px by default).

Next, it’s time to adjust your ”Call to Action” settings.

Start with writing a call to action text, for example: ”Get 10% off your first order”.

Moving on, you need to select the call to action tab colour and background colour from the ”Call to action color” and ”Call to action background” options respectively, as well as choose whether to show the call to action always or until first click from the ”Show CTA” option.

Last, you can select a font and an attention effect to draw your visitors’ attention to your discount code tab more easily.

Tip: don’t forget you can always monitor how each of the settings change your widget appearance live-time in the Preview tab to the right of your screen.

When you’re done customising your tab, you can either move on to the next customisation page or hit ”Publish” at the bottom of the page. That’s it! Easy as 1,2,3 ☺️
In the end, your custom tab should look something like this:
