In this guide we’ll show you how to add past order history targeting rules to your Coupon X widget.
With this feature you can show the Coupon X widget based on customers’ past order history, so that you can, for example, offer a discount to first time customers, to returning customers or to customers that have (or haven’t) purchased a specific product.

Let’s get right into it. First, open the Coupon X plug-in dashboard from your WordPress admin panel and click on the “Edit” button next to your widget.
Choose Step 4: Triggers & Targeting, scroll down and look for the ”Order history targeting” option. By default, the widget will be displayed for all customers, no matter if they have placed any previous orders or not.
Click on the “Add rule” button and choose to “show” or “don’t show” the widget based on one of the following previous purchase criteria: any product, specific products or products from a specific collection.
If you choose to show or hide the widget only for orders of specific products or products from a specific collection, a dropdown will appear where you can select the relevant collections or products from your currently existing ones. If you choose the “show” on “any product” option, the widget will appear for all returning customers, regardless of what they have previously purchased.

To display the widget to new customers only, choose the “don’t show” rule together with “any products”.
When you’re done, click on the “Save” button. Now your Coupon X widget will only be displayed for customers who meet the criteria you have just set.
